Hi Guys
Todays post is focusing on one of my new favourite drugstore brands Makeup Revolution.
I want to share with you my incredible pigment findings. Pigments are one of my favourite type of product to use, because not only is the pigment usually incredible, it goes further and lasts longer too (in the tub). So who doesn’t want them? well there are a few downsides of course, pigments are loose unless they’re pressed and that can evidently cause fall down, especially ones with larger glitter particles and finding matte pigments are usually a lot more difficult.
Makeup Revolution have a huge range of pigments (eye dust) from shimmery black to bright exuberant copper shades to subtle wearable hues. I have to say, the quality and pigmentation are just to die for. (not literally of course) but if you heard they were £1 each, you’d drop your bags are run right?
Well guess what folks… they ARE just £1! The consistency and pigmentation on these little pigments are incredible, one of my favourite things from the range. If you spray a little MAC Fix Plus or even add some eye drops or solution. These little pigments pack a punch! Plus i find the lasting power of these are really good. Again i would suggest an eye primer/concealer like with all eye products but i don’t find myself needing to go back into the crease to re-blend or add more.
In order from Left to Right (Top Picture)
Row 1 – Starless, Virtuous, Cautious, Panic, Confront.
Row 2 – Shameful, Hysteria, Angelic, Grandeur, Rivalry.
(Bottom Picture)
Row 1 – Mood, Disguise, Flighty, Dynamic
Row 2 – Frolic, Allure, Indirect, Antic
Lone Ranger – Vitality.
Here are a couple swatches of some of the shades. As you can see, even the black is interesting. Antic is a beautiful shimmer coloured flecks will work perfectly for night outs, evening dos, or (my personal favourite) Christmas Parties!
Vitality
This pretty silver/grey shade is perfect again for those evening looks, but with this pigment, it works great as a slight highlight in the inner tear duct when doing either a strong or subtle eye look.
Cautious is a really pretty rose gold, taupe shade which is one of my ultimate favourites in the collection! I love how pigmented it is, how pretty it looks on the eyes and this works great in summer!
Virtuous Is a taupe/purple plum shade which i love because coming into fall time these are going to be some of the colours i reach for. I will complement any plum/maroon makeup looks and give your eye that little pop.
Now as you all may know, i am a huge fan of highlighters and dewy, radiant skin. Well these highlighters at just £3 each are some of my favourites this summer. On swatch these look a little crazy intense, am i right? well in actual fact, when applied with a soft fluffy brush like the Real Techniques – Setting Brush or Blush Brush it looks flawless and gives that perfect glowy appearance!
The Gold Highlighter – Golden Lights
The Pink Highlighter – Pink Lights
Their palettes are a tricky one, the colours are fabulous and for the price you can’t really complain, but if I’m being really technical the pigmentation isn’t the best. Not with these palettes anyway. One thing i’ve noticed is that when applied on their own, the pigmentation isn’t amazing, but when sprayed with a bit of fix plus or solution spray they are drastically more intense, like with any eyeshadow. The nice thing about these pallets though is that If you are just learning to blend shadows and always feel that you apply way too much, too fast? these are the ones for you, they really help you build the colour and work in that blending, it just takes a little longer.
Redemption Palettes – Iconic 1 , Iconic 2, Romantic Palette.
Okay guys, i know this one was a bit longer, but i wanted to be thorough. So i hope you enjoyed it and that it was at all helpful.
